Noman Benotman is President of the Quilliam Foundation. He leads Quilliam’s work on de-radicalization processes in the UK and abroad, coordinating the outreach to current and former jihadists and extremists. Former militant, he distanced himself from Islamism and played a key role in the disbanding the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, a radical formation of which he had been a member. He is well known as one of the most public critics of al-Qaeda, appearing widely on international media as well as taking part in a range of international conferences.
